Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice Looks for Volunteers for the Epiphany Collection

The Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice is in need of volunteers for the Epiphany Collection, which will take place as usual in the first days of January 2013. The carollers will carol daily, usually after 4pm.

Despite the fact that Miloslav Martenek was born in Prague, he had fully naturalized in the south of Bohemia and he swears by this region. He started working in České Budějovice in 1956 as a fighter pilot.

Arrival of the Angel

We would like to cordially invite all our clients, volunteers and co-operants of the Counselling Centre for Foreigners and Migrants to experience a fairy tale with us. A fairy tale, which can happen even in the real world, in the Christmas time.

Spiritual Exercises (December 8 – December 11, 2012)

The employees and volunteers of all the charities within the České Budějovice Diocese met in order to spend several days together, namely from December 8 to December 11, 2012, and perform spiritual exercises at Svatá Hora u Příbrami. The encounter was held under the guidance of vicar-general Pavel Posád.

Evening Tea Drinking

The Counselling Centre for Foreigners and Migrants organized a tea drinking party for their clients. This event took place on November 9, 2012 in the premises of the Counselling Centre.

Financial Gift to Belarusian Representatives

On December 7, 2012 Mgr. Michaela Čermáková, the directress of the Diocesan charity in České Budějovice, presented a financial gift to Pavel Chaljavkyn, who is the director of Pinsk Charity in Belarus. The financial gift in the amount of 6.608,10 will support our common project called Cross-Border Adoption in Belarus.

EVA Counselling Center Helps Indebted People

Are you being troubled with debts? EVA Counselling Center (organization working alongside the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice) provides a long-term system of help with over-indebtedness to women and their families which have financial problems – in other words, when they are no longer able to redeem their obligations. Over-indebtedness is a burden for the whole family and poses the risk of possible loss of their home, and it also threatens the whole stability of the family. No need to mention the negative impact it has on children living in indebted families.

Open Day of the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice

We would like to cordially invite you to the Charity Day of the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice. We are going to celebrate this occasion with having the Open Day, which will take place at all the departments of the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice. The event will be held on Thursday October 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (for the general public).

The Czech Republic Charity Prize 2012

This year´s Czech Republic Charity Prize was ceremonially awarded on Tuesday, September 25, in St. Thomas Church in Prague, which is located at the Lesser Town. The prizes were awarded by the Czech Republic Charity Director, Oldřich Haičman, and by the Czech Republic Charity President, Bishop Pavel Posád. In total, there were nine prizes to be awarded and each of the eight archdiocesan and diocesan charities, as well as the Greek Orthodox Charity, nominated their own candidate for this prize. The candidates were either the workers of the charities, volunteers or significant donors.
