About the author:
Despite the fact that Miloslav Martenek was born in Prague, he had fully naturalized in the south of Bohemia and he swears by this region. He started working in České Budějovice in 1956 as a fighter pilot.
His lifelong hobby is art and art activities. After he stopped being on active duty in the army, he became a professional artist and a cartoonist with specialisation in comic strips. Since 1970, he has been publishing for several magazines and newspapers and he is also an author of illustrations in approximately 130 books and publications. He is a member of The Czech Cartoonists´ Union as well as The Federation of the European Cartoonist Organisation. He describes himself as a non-smoker, social drinker, he likes animals and some of the humans, too, and he also claims that he is a slight optimist with choleric tendencies.

Quite a lot had been written about the Cross-Border Adoption project, however, it was Mr. Martenek´s logo which added the true value to the project, expressing the essence of the help to the children in need. It is a great honour for us to be able to use an original picture made by such a special person.
