The Czech Republic Charity Prize 2012

The Czech Republic Charity Prize 2012

This year´s Czech Republic Charity Prize was ceremonially awarded on Tuesday, September 25, in St. Thomas Church in Prague, which is located at the Lesser Town. The prizes were awarded by the Czech Republic Charity Director, Oldřich Haičman, and by the Czech Republic Charity President, Bishop Pavel Posád. In total, there were nine prizes to be awarded and each of the eight archdiocesan and diocesan charities, as well as the Greek Orthodox Charity, nominated their own candidate for this prize. The candidates were either the workers of the charities, volunteers or significant donors.

The Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice nominated Mr. Kryštof Kratochvíl.

Kryštof Kratochvíl is not only a chairman of our co-operative organization Orel, but he is also a technical and administrative volunteer, as well as our donor.

Mr. Kratochvíl has been helping the Charity since 1993 – as a chairman of the Orel (he kindly let the premises of Orel to the needs of the Charity); as a technical and administrative volunteer (he for free provides the Charity with joinery and maintenance services) and he is also a donor (he for example donated a work of art – a painting – which is now in the counselling center of the Charity). Mr. Kratochvíl also volunteered during the floods in 2002 and during the holiday stay of the Belarusian children in the South of Bohemia. The Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice thus decided to nominate Mr. Kryštof Kratochvíl, for his and his family´s long-term volunteering, for the Czech Republic Charity Prize 2012.
