Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice (DCHČB)
České Budějovice Diocesan Charity, a non-profit humanitarian organization, is a major non-government provider of social & health-care services in the Region of South Bohemia. Established by the Catholic Church, the Charity offers aid to people in need, regardless of their ethnicity, nationality or creed.
The aid goes primarily to mothers with kids in trying circumstances; to endangered women; to homeless people; to the mentally handicapped and physically disabled; to low-income families; to drug addicts; to vulnerable youths; to the aged and diseased; to people in personal crises; to migrants and fugitives; to prisoners; to persons sentenced to alternative punishments and to those returning from a corrective institution. The České Budějovice Charity operates: a system of field & mobile services; counsel & guidance facilities; day-care centers; temporary & permanent accommodation facilities; etc. In a substantial part of its activities the Diocesan Charity's strives to help individuals and families struck by floods. Included in the efforts pursued by the České Budějovice Charity is also humanitarian aid provided abroad (Belorussia, Bulgaria).
In addition, the Charity's staff members sit on specialized commissions and participate in educating students and workers of other Charities and other non-profit organizations engaged in providing social, health-care and humanitarian aid. The České Budějovice Diocesan Charity is a member of the Czech Republic Charity.
