Adoptive boy from Africa died, he will be helping others
One out of four premises of the Mary Wards Children Home that is supported by the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice and that is located near the Zimbabwean city of Kwekwe burned down the last year.
One boy who was an adoptive child from our Cross-Border Adoption programme died in the fire. “It was his adoptive mother who had a very good idea that she shared with us. She decided that even though the boy died, she will send the money that she was used to be sending for him anyway, and she also asked other potential donors to join her. These potential donors can be individuals as well as companies and institutions. The money that would be raised in this manner would be used as a financial aid to other children in the home that are not listed as adoptive children in the Cross-Border Adoption programme; also the money would help the home as such,” said the coordinator of the project, Taťjána Šeráková.
Those of you who would be interested in helping this way may ask for further information on 386 350 648 or on the web pages www.adopcecb.charita.cz .
The Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice set up this project to help the African children living in the sorely tried Zimbabwe. There is a high degree of poverty in the country and many people suffer from various illnesses, including AIDS. The typical feature of this once rich country is 80% unemployment rate and alarming level of inflation. This all together is a cause for the poverty of the state administration that have no money for providing children with education, and because of the poverty of their parents, many of these children have to live in for us unimaginable conditions.
Adoptive parents can be not only individuals, but also institutions. The condition for adopting a child in this African country is to send at least 6000 CZK to a particular child per year.
