The Epiphany Collection Has Finished
Press release of the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice
The thirteenth Epiphany Collection in the České Budějovice diocese has successfully finished. The proceeds of the Collection are CZK 4,025,130 which is CZK 154 624 more than it was the previous year. There were 51 registered places where the carollers went carol-singing in order to raise money to support social and humanitarian projects both in our region as well as abroad.
The proceeds will be used to finance for example the home nursing and care services, to help the handicapped people, to financially support senior houses (in Veselí nad Lužnicí, in Pravětín u Vimperka and in Strakonice), asylum houses for homeless mothers and children, after-care services, free time activities for children and youth, to support home hospice care as well as to provide humanitarian aid both home and abroad.
The donors were particularly generous in České Budějovice, where the carollers collected CZK 287,525, and in Pelhřimov, where the generosity has already become quite traditional. In Pelhřimov, the carollers collected CZK 441,893. Other registered places where the proceeds were higher than CZK 100,000 are: Boršov nad Vltavou, Horažďovice, Kamenice nad Lipou, Katovice, Prachtice, Strakonice, Sušice, Třeboň, Týn n. Vltavou and Vodňany. Further information on the proceeds of the Epiphany Collection is to be seen in the chart below.
We would like to cordially thank all the donors for their help, goodwill and generosity. We would also like to thank all our volunteers who were actively involved in the Collection.
It is also possible to support the Collection via Donors Message Service (DMS). If you wish to donate via DMS, please kindly type “DMS KOLEDA” and send it to “87 777” (the fee of the DMS is CZK 30 out of which will be CZK 27 given directly to the Charity). You can also make a donation via bank transfer. The account number is “66008822/0800” (the bank is Česká Spořitelna) and the variable symbol is “777”.
