The "House Construction" Project
The Project, in which the Passau Diocesan Charity (D) cooperates with the Romanian Oradea Charity, has for three years now provided humanitarian and developmental aid to the Romany people living at the village of Great Varadeň. The village is a home to about 600 Romany people living in dilapidated houses of paper and clay raised on poles, who subsist there on food lifted from garbage dump sites. The aid will be extended first and foremost to destitute persons, to the Romany ethnic group, and to large families with many children and low or none education.
