Diocesan Charity Looks for a Volunteer to Assist Temporarily with Folding Clothes
The EVA Counselling Center for girls and women in need was caught in crisis operation. Thus, they’d need a volunteer to help them with the closet organisation from the beginning of May 2013. It would mean helping one day a week for 1-2 hours, which in total means helping approximately four times. We are asking for help, because three out of five of our workers are currently ill, or are taking care of their sick children. The two who remained healthy have to take care of the whole Center and they daily provide help to approximately 20 clients. In the following text, you will learn further details about work which is done in the closet.
The closet of the EVA Counselling Center is located in the city center in České Budějovice. The aim of the Center is to help their female clients who ended up in precarious financial situation. From all the donations the Diocesan Charity receives, these women can choose clothes they urgently need for themselves or for their children. Of course, everything is done according to rules - that is each client can use this service no more than once a month.
Part of the operation of the closet is its maintenance. It is necessary that somebody went through the closet once a week, folded the clothes, unpacked new clothes from bags, sorted it out and then added to the rest. This activity takes approximately 1-2 hours a week. It is possible to come:
either on Tuesday from 1 pm to 4 pm (4 pm means the end of the activity of the volunteer),
or on Friday from 8 am to 12 am (again, 12 am means the end of the activity of the volunteer).
We would be very grateful if you decided to help us with the maintenance of the closet. We assume that we will need your help till the beginning of May 2013, which means four times.
If you are interested in helping us, you can call Alena Kohoutová, who is a coordinator of the volunteers, and who will give you further details and information.
